Description

Scope and content: Los Angeles, California. Aircraft Schools. Correspondence from the National Youth Administration offices in Arizona, Washington and Iowa answering queries from the California National Youth Administration office on the extent of out-of-state advertisement for students to enroll in fly-by-night aircraft schools in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The clippings reveal the assumption of school names which imply an official connection with the aircraft industries and infer that graduates are guaranteed employment. "Airplane builders, men wanted", "Short training, Jobs waiting" and "Pay half tuition after going to work" are typical excerpts from the clippings displayed on this bulletin board

The National Youth Administration was designed to provided education or training for young adults in the United States of America, and find them jobs. With World War II looming they would have needed people to build airplanes to fight the war. The National Youth Administration provided the link between the young adults and the jobs, benefiting both the young adults and the United States of America.
