Title
He should pay the taxes
Subject
Carnegie, Andrew, 1835-1919. Poverty Farmers Rockefeller, H. G. Havemeyer.
Description
Mrs. Robinson Brown;
The political cartoon was contemporary to Hull House. The image depicts three wealthy men pointing to an impoverished man. The wealthy men are implying that the poor man should not only pay taxes, but the added the in front of taxes in the title implies, that the poor man should pay taxes instead of them. The artist is implying that it is unfair that the poor have to pay taxes while the rich get to keep their wealth.
